Van's New Power is the fifty-second episode of the Zoids: Chaotic Century anime series. Following his defeat by the Geno Breaker, Van and the rest of the Guardian Force plan to upgrade the Blade Liger with a new booster system, while Fiona notices a new power developing within Zeke.

Notes

• This episode makes a huge deal out of emphasizing the incredible powers Zeke and the Blade Liger have acquired. With the attack boosters and Zeke's new powerup, the Blade Liger becomes faster and more powerful than ever before. This makes it all the more blatant when these awesome new abilities appear to vanish later on, as the Blade Liger and Zeke are never shown to use these moves in any other episode. The attack boosters, also repeatedly emphasized as a vital upgrade for the Blade Liger to meet the demands which Van's piloting skills place on it, are noticably absent in G-File, Supersonic Battle, and Cerberus. Said attack boosters are eventually written out of the series, and the problem they were intended to fix is conveniently never mentioned again.
• For all of Van's preaching about how Zoids and humans are friends and Zoids and their pilots share a special bond that science can't explain, it seems strange that this hot shot ace pilot would need Dr. D to explain to him that he'd been abusing the Blade Liger. One would think that after all his time in the military he would have been taught how to take care of his Zoid and respect its limitations. In light of this revelation, one would also think he'd have Zeke checked out when Fiona expressed concern; the Liger seemed "just fine" until it started shooting sparks!
