Response
The Zoids: New Century manga was poorly recieved. It was criticised for its artwork, which was regarded as being inferior compared to the art featured in the Zoids: Chaotic Century manga. Characterization was another point of contention, with an excessive focus on Bit Cloud and the Liger Zero, and many characters perceived as behaving "out of character" compared to their anime counterparts; for example, Leena's portrayal as a weepy, helpless damsel in distress, and Stoller's depiction as a cackling, bloodthirsty villain. The lack of fan-favourite characters such as Harry Champ, Jack Cisco and Vega Obscura was another point of contention, as was the story's breivity, at a mere four chapters.
