Overview
The Helcat is a "panther" type Zoid, which could variously refer to a melanistic leopard or jaguar, or to a cougar such as the Florida panther. As a loosely caricatured medium-sized feline, the Helcat has no obvious physical traits that could be used to define it specifically as any one of the former. The "Hel" in its name appears not to refer to the Judeo-Christian concept of Hell, but rather as a portmanteau of the words "Helmet" and "Cat", in reference to the helmet that it wears.
Designed for reconniasance and spying missions, the Helcat is the quintissential stealth-type Zoid, albiet not the best one around. Fast and light on its feet, it's equipped with a Stealth Shield that renders it invisible to the naked eye, though it can still be detected on radar or through thermal imaging. Due to its small size and light armour, the Helcat tends to avoid direct confrontations, hunting in groups and using its asssortment of back and chest mounted cannons to weapons to chip away at its victims from a safe distance.
