Fanon is a portmanteau of "fan" and "canon" (official events and information for a series/franchise); that is, fanmade takes on what might be true which cannot be officially confirmed, but are popular enough in fandom to have a following as explanation or fact.
Examples of fanon within the Zoids fandom include:

- Fan-made Zoids mistaken for official, such as the Glow Fox
