The '''Elephander''' is a Zoid which appears in the New Century anime.

==Overview==

The Elephander was the pride and joy of the Backdraft Group, with near perfect assault, defence and stealth capabilities. In contrast to the wild and finicky nature of the Liger Zero, the Elephander was like a calm and reliable workhorse, allowing itself to be ridden by numerous pilots. However, it also had the intelligence to respond to verbal commands, and showed a bond with its main pilot, Stoller, gently lifting him into its cockpit on one occasion.

Its signature weapon is its AZ 60mm Hyper Laser Gun, located on the end of its trunk, which features a semi-automatic rate of fire and packs enough power to reduce a Dibison to scrap with a single shot, complimented by an AZ 105mm Beam Gun and an AZ 115mm Pulse Laser Gun mounted on its back and a pair of 45mm Magazines on its face. It had enormous physical strength, able to throw the Liger Zero hundreds of feet into the air and grasp enemies with its Strike Iron Claw. Its ears could generate a Hyper Energy Shield, and its armour was thick enough to crack the Schneider's blade. It was as stealthy as it was strong, able to generate an EMP with its ears and jam the targeting systems of the ZBC's Judge Satellites, allowing it to slip in and out of battlefields unnoticed.

The Elephander could be upgraded further into an Assault Mode, which featured a new face with sharper tusks, an ESCS device on its trunk that could generate an Energy Shield or a Beam Sword, and an Assault Gatling Unit to increase its firepower.
