The '''Liger Zero Phoenix''' is a [[Fuzor]] comprised of two separate Zoids: the [[Liger Zero (Zoid)|Liger Zero]], a lion-type Zoid, and Phoenix, a Zoid modeled after the mythological bird that could die and rise again from its own ashes. It served as the lead Zoid for the first half of [[Zoids Fuzors]] and appeared in numerous promotional materials for that series, as well as for the latter duration of Hasbro's run of the Zoids line in North America.

==Overview==
The Phoenix, a [[Blox]] Zoid, has the ability to separate into its component parts and attach to the Liger Zero, forming a special [[CAS]] that grants the Liger flight capabilities and extra firepower. On its own, Phoenix has a small gun on the inner joint of each wing and a single large missile slung under its belly; in its BCAS form, it passes these weapons on to the Liger Zero, and its legs turn into a second pair of cannons. Various other parts of its body, such as its feet and tail components, graft to the Liger's face, shoulders and hips to become armor, while its head rests atop the Zero's cockpit.

In its combined form Liger Zero Phoenix can serve as a single aerial combat unit, or the BCAS can be used to effectively air-drop the Liger into a combat zone and then detach and reform, providing both a ground-based fighter and air-support unit.

==Toy release info==
Liger Zero is a medium-sized battery-operated kit requiring two AAA batteries. When the model is switched on, it will walk forward at a moderate pace, chomping its jaws; it also has numerous parts that can be manually posed, including its tail, claws, boosters, stabilizers, shock cannon, and the farers on its cheeks and lower jaw.

Phoenix is a medium-sized Blox kit which, when fully assembled, can be posed in a variety of ways or disassembled and attached to various Zoids to create new configurations.

The Liger Zero Phoenix kit contains 19 sprues of pre-colored parts, two runners of 24 [[Gyro cap|rubber caps]], 14 ring caps, five Blox and one Core Blox, two pilots, a motor, two translucent cockpit canopies, two head halves for Liger Zero, an instruction manual, and a sheet of stickers.

Fire Phoenix was sold separately from Liger Zero, although it attached to the motorized Zoid in exactly the same way as its Japanese predecessor. It contained seven sprues molded in salmony red, dark yellow and light grey, and had grey Blox, a black Core Blox, green optics, red ring-caps and a blue pilot.

This version of the kit was produced as a tie-in with the Fuzors anime. The Liger Zero included with the kit differed from previous releases in that it lacked the black stripes on the cockpit, just as [[RD]]'s Liger did in the anime, but was otherwise identical. Fire Phoenix was molded in a darker red than the Hasbro version, and the yellow pieces of the kit were translucent, while the flat grey was replaced with silver. The caps and ring-caps were red; Liger's eyepiece was orange, while Fire Phoenix's was green. The included pilot was a modeled after RD, and made from a soft rubbery material rather than hard plastic.

The Liger Zero Schneider is a high performance unit specialised for close range combat. It is equipped with numerous high output thrusters and an extremely powerful [[E-Shield]], all of which allow it to close the distance to cut down opponents with its seven [[Laser Blade]]s: five on its face, for high speed ramming attacks, and another pair on its side for drive-by slashing attacks akin to the [[Blade Liger (Zoid)|Blade Liger]]. It trades its ranged weaponry for increased protection, speed and melee capability; though it is equipped with the shock cannon of the basic unit, the cannon's actual use is heavily impeded by the shield generating array that intercepts its line of fire.

Each CP set included six sprues of colored parts, an instruction sheet and a sheet of stickers, and featured numerous points of articulation: each of the five blades on the head could be moved forward and back, the blades on the back lowered and extended, the two small blades on the tail could move back and forth, the covers on the shoulder boosters could be opened, and the shield generators on the face could extend and retract.

The Liger Zero Jäger is a high performance unit specialised for speed and mobility. It has a sleek, aerodynamic design and is equipped with a pair of enormous ion boosters on its shoulders. These boosters are attached to flexible mounts, granting it the highest maneuverability of any Zoid. Its primary ranged weapons are a pair of machine guns mounted on its face. It sports increased speed, mobility and a higher rate of fire, which it trades for less extensive armour coverage and decreased firepower; though it is technically equipped with the shock cannon of the basic unit, the cannon's actual use is heavily impeded by the facial armour that intercepts its line of fire.

The Jäger Unit includes eight sprues of precolored parts, an instruction sheet and a sticker sheet. It features numerous pieces that can be manually positioned, such as the antennae, throat armor, stabilizers, hip fins, and most notably the ion boosters, which can extend to the sides, unfold and swivel in virtually any direction.
